The new faculty members represent 16 countries, including the US, China, Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Portugal, the UK, and Kazakhstan. They will contribute to teaching and research across a broad range of disciplines, such as computer science, chemistry, economics, geology, history, anthropology, languages and literature, academic writing, and leadership.
NU Provost, Vice Provosts, Vice Presidents, and Deans welcomed the new professors during an onboarding session on Sept. 6, which included presentations from various departments on essential topics such as visa and migration issues, relocation processes, social packages, campus safety, and other services available to faculty and their families.
Additionally, NU welcomed 120 new PhD students this year. They will pursue advanced degrees in fields like engineering, robotics, computer science, Eurasian studies, life sciences, mathematics, business, and more. Students already learned everything about the university during Orientation Week at the beginning of the semester.
