NU SSH professor Suragan has become a moderator at the International Congress of Mathematicians 2022

NU SSH professor Durvudkhan Suragan took part in the International Mathematical Union (IMU) General Assembly meeting, the IMU Award Ceremony, and top math prize winner lectures, which were held in person in Helsinki, Finland, on July 2-6, 2022. He was invited as a delegate of Kazakhstan.

NU SSH professor Durvudkhan Suragan took part in the International Mathematical Union (IMU) General Assembly meeting, the IMU Award Ceremony, and top math prize winner lectures, which were held in person in Helsinki, Finland, on July 2-6, 2022. He was invited as a delegate of Kazakhstan.

IMU is an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization to promote international cooperation in mathematics. The IMU grants four prizes for mathematical achievement, which are awarded every four years at the Opening Ceremony of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM).

Professor Suragan was appointed as a moderator for the ICM 2022, the largest conference on mathematics. Moderators are selected among world-class experts in mathematics. Being chosen as a moderator at this meeting is considered to be a recognition of professor Suragan’s contributions to mathematical society.
