NU (NU) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting, held on May 26-27, 2023 at the NU School of Medicine in Astana, Kazakhstan. This prestigious event, co-organized by NU in collaboration with the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) and Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” (UMC), brought together academic health centers from the region and around the globe.
With the theme “Academic Health Centers as Economic Engines for their Communities, Nation, and Region,” the conference attracted leaders and experts from academic health centers worldwide. Over the course of two days, attendees engaged in insightful discussions, shared experiences and best practices, and explored strategies to optimize their institutions’ impact on the economy and community.
The 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting provided an exceptional platform for peer networking and facilitated collaboration opportunities among academic health centers. Attendees participated in sessions that covered a wide range of topics, including the economic impact of integrated health systems, the evolving role of academic health centers in public health and citizen wellbeing, and the enhancement of research and innovation through medical-pharmaceutical bio-clusters. The conference also addressed current and future workforce challenges in academic health centers, encouraging fruitful dialogue and knowledge exchange.
