NU Researchers Take Part in the First Congress of Young Scientists of Kazakhstan

Dedicated to the 125th birth anniversary of renowned Kazakh scientist and academician Kanysh Satpayev, the event gathered over 1,000 young researchers from Kazakhstan, including those excelling in international scientific circles. Attendees presented innovative research and engaged in discussions on the country's current state of scientific development.

A congratulatory message from State Counsellor Erlan Karin read at the congress stated: “The opening of the First Congress of Young Scientists is an important initiative that contributes to fostering a culture of knowledge and science in society. The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, pays special attention to supporting scientists. All conditions have been created so that talented and hardworking youth would have access to quality education and have the opportunity to conduct their research.”

The congress served as a platform for addressing critical issues in national science. Participants deliberated on research priorities, identified promising scientific areas aligned with the nation’s needs, and explored avenues for international collaboration and the recruitment of foreign experts.

The event also presented new initiatives to support young researchers, including grants, scholarships, and international internships. In recognition of their contributions to scientific advancement, several young scientists, including NU Associate Professor Suragan Durvudkhan, the youngest academician of the National Academy of Sciences, were honored with medals commemorating Satpayev’s 125th birth anniversary.
