In the run-up to Science Workers’ Day, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded researchers who have achieved significant success in science and made a substantial contribution to the development of higher education, according to the press service of Akorda.
Among the awardees is Assiya Yermukhambetova, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar at the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (SEDS), Nazarbayev University (NU), who received the state honor “Eren Eñbegi Üshın”. The award recognizes her contributions to the development of national science, advancement of research capacity, and efforts in training a new generation of scientists.
“This award is not only a great honor for me, but also a great responsibility. I see it as a sign of trust in our shared work on developing national science, training a new generation of researchers, and finding scientific solutions that respond to real societal and economic needs”, – she said.
She emphasized the importance of initiatives such as the Young Researchers Alliance, which plays a key role in supporting early-career scientists and ensuring that talented youth see science as a space for opportunity, growth, and meaningful impact on the country’s future.
Extending her congratulations to fellow scientists on the occasion of Science Workers’ Day, Dr. Yermukhambetova wished researchers across Kazakhstan continued success, bold ideas, internationally impactful projects, and the achievement of new academic milestones by their students.
