NU held a Clean Up Day as part of the “Taza Qazaqstan” campaign

250 trees were planted

Today, Nazarbayev University hosted a Clean Up Day event as part of the national “Taza Qazaqstan” environmental campaign. Approximately 500 faculty and administrative staff participated by cleaning the university campus and surrounding public spaces.

The Clean Up Day initiative represents an important component of NU’s broader commitment to promoting sustainable development and fostering ecological awareness. During the event, special attention was given to waste sorting and 250 trees were planted across the university grounds.

The event also highlights NU’s dedication to advancing its Green Campus initiative, which focuses on improving the campus’s environmental efficiency and implementing best practices in sustainability.

In his welcoming remarks, NU President Dr. Waqar Ahmad emphasized that such initiatives help to strengthen the unity of the university community — faculty, students, and staff alike. Executive Vice President Dr. Aslan Sarinzhipov noted that by joining the “Taza Qazaqstan” campaign, NU is making a meaningful contribution to the development and prosperity of both the capital city and the country as a whole.

NU remains steadfast in its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development initiatives.
