NU Graduates Selected for 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve

We are delighted to share that these outstanding individuals, comprising 8 graduates and a student, have been included in the 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. This initiative, led by the head of state, aims to attract talented youth to the public administration system and cultivate a team of new managers across various fields.

We are delighted to share that these outstanding individuals, comprising 8 graduates and a student, have been included in the 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. This initiative, led by the head of state, aims to attract talented youth to the public administration system and cultivate a team of new managers across various fields.

More than 6,000 young Kazakhstani individuals submitted applications to participate in the multi-stage competition. The high demand resulted in intense competition, with 128 people vying for one place. The top 100 candidates successfully navigated the interview stage with members of the National Commission. Based on the results of this final stage, 50 of the most competitive young specialists from various industries were selected to be included in the reserve.

NU is pleased to note that 8 specialists who passed the selection have completed bachelor’s or master’s degrees at NU at different times, and some are currently pursuing doctoral studies at NU:

Aslan Nurzhanov, BA in Political Science and International Relations (2016), currently works as a project manager at the Eurasian Center for People Management.

Kusmanov Adil, Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (2017), is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Institute of Economic Research”.

Sailanbayev Alibek, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (2017), works at Wand (the power of AI creation) as a machine learning engineer.

Yerubayev Zhanibek, Bachelor of Science in Robotics and Mechatronics(2017); Master of Public Health (2019). Today, he works as the Director of Public Health Emergency Operations Center at the National Center for Public Health.

Temerbayeva Aizhan, Master of Science in Educational Leadership (2015), is currently pursuing a doctorate at the NU Graduate School of Education.

Shalkarov Nursultan, Master of Public Administration (2020), currently works as the Director of Contracts and Sales B2O at Kazakhtelecom JSC.

Kanat Baikenov, Master of Science in Educational Leadership (2020), is currently a doctoral student at the NU Graduate School of Education.

Ashirbekov Meirambek, a student at the Graduate School of Business, is majoring in Business Administration.

Membership in the Reserve provides a unique opportunity for young professionals to make meaningful contributions to the country at various levels, showcasing the potential impact of education in preparing graduates for essential roles in governance. Specialists who have successfully passed the selection process can be appointed to political and administrative positions in Corps “A” and to leadership roles in Corps “B” over the next three years.

The entry of our graduates into the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve directly aligns with NU’s goals of training highly qualified personnel and creating a fully-fledge innovation cluster for the effective development of various sectors of the Kazakh economy. Over the 13 years of its existence, NU has graduated more than 8 thousand specialists into the labor market in a variety of fields, instilling in them the main values of the alma mater, such as meritocracy, academic integrity, and transparency.

NU is proud that, according to the 2022 analysis of student employment status, more than 90% of employed graduates work in Kazakhstan. The university will continue to prepare transformative leaders with solid knowledge, high professional qualities, who are ready to take responsibility and make non-standard and effective decisions for the development of Kazakhstan.
