NU Graduate School of Education Awarded QAA Accreditation

The Graduate School of Education at Nazarbayev University (NUGSE) has been awarded International Programme Accreditation by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), one of the world’s leading higher education quality assurance bodies. The accreditation follows the successful completion of an external QAA review of three academic programmes:

  • MA in Multilingual Education
  • MSc in Educational Leadership
  • PhD in Education

The outcome confirms that these programmes meet internationally recognised standards for quality assurance in higher education, strengthening trust and confidence among students, partners, and the global academic community.

Aida Sagintayeva, Dean of the Graduate School of Education at NU, said:

Earlier in August 2025, NU was awarded institutional accreditation following the International Quality Review (IQR) conducted by QAA. This recognition confirmed that the University’s governance, academic standards, and quality assurance processes operate in line with international expectations.

With these achievements, NU also celebrates its portfolio of more than 70 globally benchmarked undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes. These include world-class offerings in medicine, computer science, and mathematics, as well as strategically important disciplines such as mining, geosciences, and the physical sciences — all designed to support Kazakhstan’s development priorities while aligning with international academic standards.

NU’s growing academic reputation continues to attract high-achieving students from across Kazakhstan and abroad. In 2025, the University received over 10,000 applications, marking a 34% increase compared with the previous year.
