On April 26, 2024, NU representatives took part as speakers at the plenary session of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Shokan Okulary-28: New Scientific Paradigm: Collaboration, Digitalization, and Commercialization”.
The conference has been held for 28 years. The organizer of this annual event is Kokshetau University named after Shokan Ualikhanov. The main purpose of the “Shokan Okulary” is to recognize the contribution of Shokan Ualikhanov to Kazakh science, history, and literature, as well as the presentation of scientific works in technical, agricultural, and humanitarian areas.
Commercialization was one of the main topics of the recent conference. Considering the relevance of building a commercialization system for the results of scientific activities and promoting innovative projects, commercialization is a relevant task for all universities in Kazakhstan. During the session, NU representatives shared their experience in organizing work to establish a commercialization ecosystem.
Dinara Berdykhanova, Head of the Office of Industry Engagement and Commercialization, spoke about the experience of commercialization of NU projects, in particular about the system of work on the protection and management of intellectual property, as well as about working with projects aimed at commercialization.
Aliya Baltabaeva, Senior Manager of the NURIS Innovation Cluster, presented the results of the work done to support startups and spoke about the elements of the innovation ecosystem presented at NU, such as FABLAB, DC LAB, Prototyping Center, and Technopark.
