NU continues its cooperation with the industry leaders. On the 24th of May, NU Provost Ilesanmi Adesida signed an agreement with Biju Nair, ArcelorMittal Temirtau CEO. In the document, two parties agreed to work together on the research focused on waste management and steel slag recycling.

Within the framework of the agreement, NU researchers are expected to conduct research on safety and effectiveness of steel slag use in road construction. Also, NU scientists will work on the chemical composition of slag and its mineralogy for agricultural purposes.

“We are very interested in developing relations with large international companies. This project is important for the entire environmental community, for scientific potential, and for the economy of Kazakhstan. Cooperation with such a company as ArcelorMittal Temirtau, which is not only one of the leading industrial companies in Kazakhstan, but also in the world, is a good opportunity for us to demonstrate the potential of NU in solving urgent problems of the industry,” said Ilesanmi Adesida, NU Provost.
