NU and the Kazakh Ministry of Energy agreed to intensify cooperation aimed at advancing technological solutions in the country’s thermal energy sector. This partnership was forged during a productive meeting between NU’s leadership, professors, and a delegation from the Ministry of Energy led by Vice-Minister Bakytzhan Ilyas.
During the visit to our university, the delegation got acquainted with the scientific and technical potential of NU and research projects in the field of traditional and renewable energy sources.
The delegation had the opportunity to tour laboratories specializing in high-voltage engineering, energy systems, electrical machines, as well as renewable energy sources. Additionally, they were introduced to the latest developments at the Institute of Smart Systems and AI (ISSAI), and the innovative work being conducted in other laboratories focused on new materials and energy storage solutions.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a workshop in March on the basis of NU with the participation of engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This collaborative effort aligns with existing agreements between MIT and the ministry, aimed at advancing the comprehensive development of Kazakhstan’s heat and power sector.
