This meeting, organized by the NU Career and Advising Center, highlights the close cooperation between NU and its industry partners-employers.

Gaini Yessembekova, head of the Career and Advising Center (CAC), in her welcoming speech, underlined the role and contribution of university career centers in strengthening ties between students and employers. She marked the CAC mission as to provide comprehensive career services to encourage student achievement in career development, prepare for the professional environment, and create and promote strong partnerships with NU students and parents, alumni, employers, the Schools, and the University community at large. In turn, General Manager Liliya Tleukenova told about current initiatives and the outcomes of the Career and Advising Center’s work. Annually, CAC hosts various events, including an NU alumni reunion, career workshops and professional development programs, job fairs with leading companies from diverse industries, including engineering, information technology, healthcare, education, banking, and consulting.

During the meeting, the most actively involved employers were awarded certificates for their exceptional commitment to the professional empowerment of NU students as part of the student career development program.

“Partners-employers conducted 39 spring and fall simulated interview sessions for more than 260 students from various majors and backgrounds. Our students visited companies, had the opportunity to learn about current labor trends, labor market, and job search strategies and tools during on-campus info sessions. Within the framework of cooperation in 2023, more than 530 NU students have undergone industrial internship, and on the Net Center’s career platform, employers placed more than 1500 vacancies for NU students and graduates,” said Gaini Yessembekova.

The meeting wrapped up with an engaging quiz, offering employers to test their knowledge about NU, its students and alumni, and the Career and Advising Center. This session was seamlessly integrated with networking, providing a valuable opportunity for the news exchange and the discussion of plans for the upcoming year. Employers enthusiastically expressed their appreciation, underscoring the importance of the event in fostering collaborative initiatives.
