NU Scientists Recognized as the Best Researchers of the Year

The annual "Best Scientist" award, designed to support and motivate scientists and researchers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology, has been in existence for several years. This year, the competition identified 50 scientists from research institutes, universities, and scientific departments of various organizations.

The annual “Best Scientist” award, designed to support and motivate scientists and researchers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology, has been in existence for several years. This year, the competition identified 50 scientists from research institutes, universities, and scientific departments of various organizations. Each recipient was honored with a certificate and a prize amounting to 2000 MCI.

Scientists from NU and the National Laboratory Astana distinguished themselves in three areas: natural sciences, engineering and technology, as well as medicine and healthcare. In the “Engineering and Technology” category, NU scientists secured 6 out of the allocated 10 awards.

So, the “Best Researchers” are:

Natural Sciences:

– Almagul Mentbaeva , Assistant Professor, NU SEDS

– Yerlan Amanbek , Assistant Professor, NU SSH

Engineering and Technology:

– Arailym Nurpeissova , Head of Laboratory of advanced materials and systems for energy storage, Leading Researcher at NLA.

– Fail Sultanov, Leading Researcher at NLA

– Gulsim Kulsharova, Assistant Professor, NU SEDS

– Askhat Jumabekov, Associate Professor, NU SSH

– Sultangali Arzykulov, Assistant Professor, NU SEDS

– Mukanova Aliya, Leading Researcher at NLA

Medicine and Healthcare:

– Sholpan Askarova, Head of the Laboratory of Bioengineering and Regenerative Medicine, Leading Researcher at NLA

– Gulzhanat Aimagambetova, Assistant Professor, NUSOM

– Samat Kozhakhmetov, Leading Researcher at NLA, the Laboratory of Microbiome

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted through the information system and evaluated by the commission and experts, including leading scientists, independent experts, government agencies’ representatives, and members of the Council of Young Scientists of Kazakhstan.

This year the competition received more than 300 applications in 7 areas: “Natural Sciences”, “Engineering and Technology”, “Medicine and Public Health”, “Social Sciences”, “Humanities and Arts”, “Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences”, and “Military Sciences and National Security”.
