NU (NU) community, including executives, teaching and administrative staff, and students, gathered for a concert dedicated to Independence Day. NU Executive Vice-President Aslan Sarinzhipov delivered a speech, where he congratulated the entire NU community and Kazakh residents on this important holiday.
“I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate everyone on this great holiday. 32 years ago Kazakhstan gained its independence and this opened doors for the younger generations to study at great universities like this. We, as the future of this country, have to work hard to make our country great for our people. Congratulations!” said Aslan Sarinzhipov.
NU Vice President for Student Affairs Kadisha Dairova congratulated those gathered, recalling the main milestones in the history of Kazakhstan, the price of independence, “the dream of our ancestors that came true.” Vice President for International Cooperation Darkhan Bilyalov also addressed the NU community.
“Our independence is 32 years old. Perhaps, this is not a long period from the historical point of view, but this is a huge, important journey that our country and its people have made. Independence made it possible to develop science, education, carry out reforms, and build a better future. Professors and graduates of NU, who today work for the benefit of the state in different parts of the country, made a significant contribution to this!” – said Darkhan Bilyalov, wishing everyone good luck and success in their work.
The speeches were followed by a concert, organized with the support of the Rukhani Zhangyru Cultural Center. The already famous NU Student Orchestra performed Kurmangazy’s “Adai” and “Erke sylkym”, student Yernar Zhalgas played Kadyr Myrzali’s composition “Kazak osy”, NU SSH Professor Zhanar Abdigapbarova sang the song “Dunie” by Kapez Baygabyluly. The audience particularly liked thematic monologues by the Kazakh Stage Theater Club, which showed the history of December 1986 events. The concert also featured songs performed by first and second year students of NU.
