Lecture by the President of Kazakhstan at NU

The President called NU a leader in higher education, where within its walls students can develop into the “new country”s future, new elite of the country, those who will develop Kazakhstan in XXI century, in order to provide people with peace and steady prosperity.” The lecture was heard by millions of scholars, students and teachers throughout the country who watched it through the live broadcast of republican TV channels. During his speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev shared his thoughts about plans that should be made in education, science, economy and politics, in order for the state to keep successfully moving forward. After the lecture, the opening ceremony of the Graduate School of Education of the NU was held. A memorandum was signed between NU, the University of Cambridge and the University of Pennsylvania on August 20, 2012. At the end of the meeting the President took a picture with NU employees who are Bolashak program alumni.
