NU Experts Speak at the III Forum on Institutional Research.
Experts from Nazarbayev University (NU) participated in the III Institutional Research Forum, co-hosted with the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (QyzPU), where they joined participants in exploring the development of institutional research, with a particular focus on data-driven decision-making in higher education.
Matthew Courtney, Head of Institutional Research at NU, moderated the forum’s first plenary session, which addressed the quality of education amid ongoing digital transformation. Duncan Priestley, Executive Director for Strategy and Delivery at NU, addressed a talk titled “Enhancing Curricula through Data-Driven Decision-Making,” highlighting how the strategic use of analytics can support the continuous improvement of academic content.
Assel Zhakibayeva, Institutional Research Analyst, led a workshop titled “Engaging Stakeholders through Survey Data Storytelling,” which showcased tools for data visualization and communication. Diana Kalemeneva, NU’s Survey Coordinator, shared hands-on experience with the Qualtrics platform and its practical applications in institutional research and student feedback systems.
Through ongoing knowledge-sharing and practical insights, NU continues to play a leading role in fostering a culture of analytics and advancing innovative approaches to education management in Kazakhstan. At this Forum, in particular, the experts’ contributions sparked dynamic discussions and provided practical takeaways for professionals across the sector.
