Fuel from CO2, Clean Water and Energy Storage – Solving Global Challenges with Functional Porous Materials

Information about the organizer:

Nazarbayev University will host a Chemistry Seminar featuring an invited research lecture by Professor Charl Faul, Professor of Materials Chemistry and Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Bristol (UK).

The seminar will open with the lecture “Fuel from CO2, Clean Water and Energy Storage – Solving Global Challenges with Functional Porous Materials.” Professor Faul will discuss how advanced functional porous polymeric materials can contribute to sustainable solutions for CO2 utilisation, energy storage, and water purification.

Professor Faul holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Stellenbosch and has held research positions at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces. He has published over 145 scientific papers, holds several international patents, and is actively involved in research commercialisation and international academic collaboration.
