As part of Nazarbayev University’s 15th anniversary celebrations, NU is launching its first International Conference on Planetary Health and Environmentally Sustainable Healthcare. The event will bring together international experts, researchers, and practitioners to address the urgent need for healthcare systems that are both climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable.
The conference will focus on innovative approaches to minimizing the ecological impact of healthcare, improving energy efficiency, strengthening climate adaptation, and advancing sustainable health policies at national and global levels.
Abstract submissions are invited in the following thematic areas:
1. Climate-Resilient Health Systems and Environmental Health
Topics include climate change and human health, system adaptation, emerging diseases, climate-informed policies, and health equity.
2. Sustainable Healthcare Infrastructure, Innovation, and Technology
Themes cover green hospitals, decarbonization, digital and remote care technologies, and metrics for sustainable healthcare.
3. Education, Leadership, and Governance for Planetary Health
Areas include planetary health education, leadership development, public–private partnerships, governance frameworks, and community engagement.
This conference marks an important step in advancing NU’s commitment to sustainable development and planetary health.
