Dr. Chiara von Hollen-Pierobon on “Civil Society Support at a Crossroads: Lessons from EU Engagement in Kyrgyzstan”

NU Graduate School of Public Policy invites students, faculty, researchers, and members of the wider NU community to a guest lecture by Prof. Chiara von Hollen-Pierobon exploring the evolving role of international cooperation in supporting civil society in Central Asia.

Drawing on the experience of EU engagement in Kyrgyzstan, the lecture will examine key opportunities and challenges in strengthening civil society, promoting resilience, and supporting social transformation. The discussion will also highlight broader perspectives on cooperation between Europe and Central Asia.

Prof. von Hollen-Pierobon is Professor of Public Policy and Social Change at OTH Regensburg. Her research focuses on civil society, social transformation, and Europe–Central Asia cooperation. She brings extensive academic and practical experience from working with universities, civil society organizations, foundations, and think tanks across the region.
