Astana Business Campus seeks to expand cooperation and achieve maximum benefit for the gifted youth of NU, Kazakhstan and Central Asia, which is why it establishes partnerships with leading global hubs and venture funds. Thus, ABC has partnered with StartX, a non-profit accelerator affiliated with Stanford University.
As part of this partnership, representatives of the Social Development Fund and the Astana Business Campus visited the accelerator’s base in Palo Alto, California on Aug. 10. Elmira Aubrey, CEO of MOST Business Intelligence, the leading private venture fund in Kazakhstan, and Asset Abdualiyev, founder of the Silk Road Innovation Hub for supporting startups and investors from Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Mongolia, were also invited to visit StartX premises.
The visit commemorated the end of the summer acceleration batch, where Doszhan Zhussupov, the founder of Cerebra AI, a Kazakh startup for diagnosing stroke using artificial intelligence, was the first-ever participant from Kazakhstan. As part of the program, Cerebra studied the experience of the Stanford University Business and Medical Schools and is still receiving assistance in establishing contacts with leading US medical institutions. Cerebra will also participate in a demo day for investors to raise funds for further development.
Astana Business Campus is a modern science park created for collaboration between the business sector and the scientific community of NU. It was created for high-tech business and research groups from universities, being part of a network of laboratories and research groups from across Kazakhstan.
StartX is an accelerator that supports Stanford-based startups through mentorship, training, resources, and access to more than 2,000 entrepreneurs on the Stanford network. StartX is also partnering with other global organizations to invite foreign founders to participate in the Founders’ Visit Program.
