Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova stated this at the graduation ceremony, during which 139 NU School of Medicine graduates received their diplomas. She also noted that the School of Medicine and the University Medical Center Corporate Foundation are models for other medical universities and clinics in Kazakhstan.
‘The progressive development of national healthcare is intricately linked to broad cooperation, exchange of experience, and continuous professional development of medical professionals – researchers, teachers, and practising specialists. In this context, the Kazakh Ministry of Healthcare is actively collaborating with the NU School of Medicine and University Medical Center to train the next generation of healthcare professionals and enhance the clinical areas of the industry. I am confident that our partnership will yield significant benefits for the healthcare sector in Kazakhstan!’ – highlighted the Minister.
This year’s ceremony highlighted the awarding of academic degrees to graduates from nine academic programs, including Doctorates in Public Health, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Master’s in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences, and both Nursing and Nursing Bachelor of Science programs.
“Today’s ceremony is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our graduates. We are immensely proud of their achievements and confident in their potential to excel in their respective fields,” said Dr Massimo Pignatelli, NU Vice President and Dean of the School of Medicine, in his congratulatory speech.
Notably, this year, the first and only graduate of the Doctor of Biomedical Sciences program is student Kamila Razieva. The School has 22 training programs from undergraduate to residency; by this point, more than 630 people, including the current cohort, have already graduated. One significant School achievement is the full accreditation of the four-year “Doctor of Medicine” program by the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA), which is part of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education.
