Key and functional tasks of the Department

1) implementation of operational and medium-term economic planning of financial and economic activity of the Institution;

2) monitoring the implementation of planned economic indicators and the development of corrective actions;

3) analysis of the state and results of financial and economic activities of the Institution.

Key and functional tasks of the position

Organization and guidance on the direction of economic planning and analysis of the academic and research activities of the Institution, including:

1) development of a methodology (guidance) for demand planning, setting up the necessary analytics and integration with accounting data in the information system;

2) organization of the process of interaction with the involved structural units on the issues being supervised within the framework of:

– preparation of the Institution’s budget requests for a three-year period, and working with the authorized bodies;

– development of the draft annual budget, as well as its adjustments;

– regular monitoring of the implementation of the annual budget, preparation of reports on the results of activities and on the implementation of the annual budget for the past period;

3) the organization of the necessary internal controls to ensure the rational and economical use of material, labor and financial resources, as well as the organization of a reporting system that allows to identify internal reserves, to prevent losses;

4) preparation of analytical reports, information materials, presentations at the request of management on the issues being supervised.

5) participation in the implementation of the Institution’s projects on administrative support;

6) preparation of economically reasonable calculations of services rendered by the Institution.

Education

Higher education with major in economics or finance, preferably in universities with teaching in English.

Required professional experience 

work experience at least 3 year in the areas corresponding to the functional areas of a particular position

Professional competence and personal qualities

Analytical abilities (forecasting based on available data), skills of preparing reports and analytical notes, communicability, teamwork, developed leadership qualities, stress resistance, commitment to the University’s goals and values;

Proficiency in languages

The presence of good oral and written skills of Kazakh and Russian languages, knowledge of English is desirable.

Computer Literacy

Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 1C: Enterprise.
