Researcher in physics (nuclear physics, accelerators)

The main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

The main activities for carrying out theory and experimental research in nuclear physics, astrophysics, and experimental electronics.

Key and functional tasks

Researcher will be employed to support the research using INURA accelerator, participate in the implementation of the research outcomes and developments; will be involved in preparing publications based on the results of  the scientific research (articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, conference proceedings, scientific collections).

Main research areas include nuclear physics, astrophysics, applied physics and their respective fields as follows:

1) Theory;

2) Data analyzing;

3) Experimental physics (charged particles’ beams);

Required qualifications:

–        Experience in experimental physics research in the field of nuclear physics and astrophysics;

–        Evidence of potential for high level of achievement as an independent researcher.

–        Ability to work as a team member to accomplish goals

–         Interest in the project;

–        Well-organized, self-motivating, able to work with minimum supervision.

Education:

PhD in Physics

Desired professional qualifications/experience

At least 5 years of experience in research projects.

Professional knowledge

Good communication skills; high ability to cooperate and work as part of the team as well as with project partners.

Personal qualities

The candidate should have a high sense of responsibility and self-management.

Proficiency in languages, including state language, (list of languages)

English (oral / written) – fluent;

Russian (oral / written) – fluent

Computer skills:

Advanced user of PC, knowledge of programming languages. Knowledge of Assembler is preferred. Experience in working with databases, C, or Fortran
