Main functional responsibilities of the department

Computing Resources Department is responsible for support and implementation of decisions related to IT-resources, provision of qualitative and continuous access to information resources of “Nazarbayev University” JSC and its affiliates.

Main functional duties

Typical duties of a Manager include as follows:

– installation and adjustment of server, active networking equipment and software;

 – audit of IT infrastructure;

 – implementation of information security policies;
– data backup monitoring and retrieval;
– updating and modifying of system configurations;
– documenting of system configurations;
– performance test of network interconnection.

Education

Higher, IT.

Desired work experience (duration, sphere and other)

Work experience – as a system, network administrator – 3 years (at least).

Professional competence and personal qualities

Professional skills:

·         Advanced knowledge and experience of Windows and Linux administration.

·         Advanced knowledge and experience of vMware virtualization

·         Advanced user and experience of directory service installation and adjustment, mail servers, official servers (DNS, DHCP, Proxy, FTP).

·         Localization, complex and complicated trouble shooting of soft- and hardware.

·         Advanced user and work experience with active networking equipment. Static, dynamic routing, OSPF, BGP, NAT, PAT, VPN, VLAN.

·         Advanced user and experience of SCS design.

·         Work experience with wireless networking equipment.

·         Procedure of accepting equipment

·         Work experience – as a system, network administrator – 3 years (at least).

Functional duties:

·         Administration of information systems.

·         Writing technical documentation, operational manuals.

Language skills, including state language

Technical English. For citizens of Kazakhstan – knowledge of Kazakh and Russian is obligatory, for international applicants – knowledge of Kazakh and Russian would be an advantage.
