Requirements

Education

Higher education . Preferably with the English as the main language of instruction.

 Qualifications

 

A degree preferably in career services, business administration, human resources, higher education or related areas.

 Professional  

 experience

  • for a Bachelor`s degree holder – at least 3 years of work experience that is either directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or was accumulated in the context of national and/or international companies.
  • for a Master`s degree holder – at least 1 year of work experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • alternatively, the incumbent must have at least 2 years of work experience at Nazarbayev University;

Professional competencies 

  • applied knowledge and expertise in areas related to the Center`s activities;
  • skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities;
  • ability to administer integrated programs within a public or educational institution environment;
  • specialized skills or qualifications in career advising/coaching would be a plus;
  • ability to analyze problems, interpret operational needs, and develop solutions.

 Personal skills

  • commitment to the University goals and values;
  • ability to cooperate effectively with people of different ethnic and cultural background;
  • strong follow-up, customer-centric, friendly, helpful and professional demeanor;
  • self-driven, able to demonstrate initiative and provide customer-focused support for students, alumni, employers, and other partners;
  • excellent writing skills, diplomatic and effective communicator, strong interpersonal skills.

Language skills

Fluent spoken and written Kazakh, Russian and English

 

Job responsibilities and functions

 

  • responsible for the maintenance of the Career Platform;
  • assistance in the implementation of the Internship Program and serves as a replacement for the responsible employee during his/her absence;
  • provides Input to the Student Career Development Program and serves as a replacement for the responsible employee during his/her absence;
  • provides career advice to help students and graduates set and reach their employment goals;
  • provides practical training and assistance in basic job search techniques (e.g., résumé and cover letter preparation, interviewing skills, etc.);
  • collects information within the specified functional area and provides input for the monthly newsletter and social media update;
  • provides reports upon request;
  • responsible for the planning, supervision, budget correction, reporting on the implementation of the budget;
  • participates in the processes of risk identification, assessment, management, monitoring and generates relevant reports within supervised area;
  • other duties assigned by Director deem appropriate.
