Faculty Positions in Chemical Engineering

Nazarbayev University’s School of Engineering invites applications for full-time faculty positions in the Department of Chemical Engineering to begin in August 2018. We are primarily interested in candidates for the following positions:
- Assistant Professor in Computational Materials Engineering (REF: CHE CME)
- Assistant Professor in Biochemical Engineering (REF: CHE BCE)
We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. A PhD or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field are required. All applicants are expected to have publications in well-ranked journals/conferences in the areas of their expertise. Experience in industry and/or in pursuing and obtaining research funding is also desirable.
The Department of Chemical Engineering has graduated its first UG class in 2015 and has recently moved into brand new 2000 m2 facilities and state of the art laboratories. The Department offers Bachelor’s, MSc and PhD programs, and attracts some of the best students in Kazakhstan. Areas of research activity include Energy Generation, Conversion and Storage; Environmental Protection, Remediation and Resource Efficiency; Risk Analysis, Aerosol and Climate Sciences; Multiscale Materials Modelling and Processing and Biomedical Engineering. Starting in Fall 2018, the Department plans to adopt an ABET-compliant undergraduate course of study and a new research-intensive two-year MSc Program in Chemical and Materials Engineering.
Initial appointment is on a 3-year renewable contract. Subsequent appointments can be 5-year/3-year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include:
