Key and functional tasks of the Department

Pre-Award

The Pre-Award services will provide professional guidance to the Faculty and researchers through the process including funding opportunity eligibility, proposal preparation, budget development, submission and award transition. The incumbent will work on developing and supporting electronic research administration services, including storage, network, data and software applications as well as project based work to improve and enhance the infrastructure environment within Research Administration’s Units, the Office of the Provost, including some elements in Finance Department and Office of Supply Chain.

Key and functional tasks of the position

Administer and maintain electronic research administration infrastructure efficiently (PURE, 1C, Windows and etc.);

Plan and recommend enhancements to ensure that information system capacity meets current and future business requirements in a cost effective manner;

Administer backup and disaster recovery systems and processes;

Assist in the creation of reports and dashboards for use by users/management team;

Assist, train and aid the development of other team members in the Office of the Provost, Research Administration.

Education

Must possess education and qualifications at Master’s degree level or above, preferably from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction and medium of assessment.

Required professional experience 

Professional experience should be not less than 1 year in the areas corresponding to following areas:

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2010/2012;

Good knowledge of Pure, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML, jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap, PHP, Laravel;

Good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server;

Good knowledge of MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle.

Professional competence and personal qualities

Experienced in developing software applications / systems using different frameworks and backup systems, basic information security requirements;

Strong customer service skills;

Ability to independently diagnose and solve problems using sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

Proficiency in languages

Proficiency in the English, Russian and Kazakh languages

Computer Literacy

PHP Frameworks, JavaScript, HTML, Microsoft SQL Server, СУБД Access, 1C, FTP servers.
