Drilling and blasting
The School of Mining and Geosciences at the Nazarbayev University invites applications for faculty members at Open Rank Level. The successful candidate must have a PhD degree within Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline with a proven research track record and teaching experience commensurate with appointment rank.
Applications are encouraged from candidates with expertise in core of mineral processing, mine planning and optimization, mineral economics, drilling and blasting, mining sustainability and environment. Workload is distributed between (1) teaching, (2) research and (3) service activities: (1) contribution in the design, development, delivery and review of courses for newly established Mining Engineering Program as well as sustain a high-quality delivery of teaching; (2) be able to lead and coordinate research within the specified areas and act as principal investigator in research projects at international level; (3) perform administrative duties as allocated by the University and contribute significantly to the mission of the University by representing the School.
Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.
Nazarbayev University was launched in 2010 as the premier national and regional research university, partnering with some of the most internationally recognized names in Higher Education. The School of Mining and Geosciences was established in 2016 and aims to educate tomorrow’s earth science leaders for Kazakhstan, the region and the world. The appointment is a 3-year renewable contract subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive remuneration package for international faculty members includes:
- internationally competitive salary;

- relocation allowance including air fares for the appointee and dependents.
