Earth Sciences, PhD.
Geological exploration of mineral deposits, Master of Sciences.
Geological mapping, exploration of mineral deposits, Bachelor of Sciences.
His research interests include geology of mineral deposits associated with carbonaceous shale and weathering crust, and geochemical extractions of precious metals (Au, Ag and PGE) and REE (rare earth elements) of clay-based and coal-based materials.
Dr. Medet Junussov received his PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Miskolc (Miskolc, Hungary) in November 2022. Dr. Junussov is an awardee of the Chevron scholarship and ten-day geological training scholarship at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland). Before his PhD, he has been working for several different companies during his career, such as an engineering geologist in the Department of Micro-and nano-mineralogy at the Institute of Geological Sciences (Almaty), participated in geological explorations of various gold deposits from 2011-2013, as a mud-logger in the Polish petroleum company of Drill-Lab from 2013-2014, as a senior-lecturer at Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU, Almaty, Kazakhstan) from 2014-2017. Dr. Junussov is currently a Post-doctoral Scholar in SMG, NU. His research fields include geology and geochemistry of mineral deposits (Au, Ag, PGE and REE) and coal deposits.
