Associate Professor, School of Engineering and Digital Sciences · Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Personal profile

Graduated from Aeronautical Engineering, Cairo University in 1995. Awarded two master degrees, first at Cairo University in the area of modeling indoor air flows in mechanically ventilated rooms using computational fluid dynamics. The second degree was from the University of Notre Dame, in the area of rotor/stator interaction noise. My doctorate degree was in the area of rotor/stator interation noise, and passive noise reduction using vane lean, sweep, variable vane area configurations.

After doctorate degree, worked in the areas of

  • indoor air flows, particulate flows, reduced order modeling and thermal management of data centers at Syracuse University.
  • jet noise measurements and active flow control at Syracuse University
  • development of mesoscale models for weather and climate modeling in Egypt at the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Science
  • initiated research and development team for underwater vehicle design at MCS oil

Currently I am involved in research in area of computational aeroacoustics, novel unmanned aerial vehicle design, underwate autonomous vehicle design and very low orbit satellite design.
