Recently we interviewed Akmaral Shalgimbayeva – a graduate of NU’s Graduate School of Education, specializing in “Master of Science in Leadership in Education” – about her social project of an online school for foster parents. Akmaral, how did studying at NU affect your professional life?I always wanted to deal with social problems and be as useful to society as possible, so I tried to get involved in various social projects.

On May 31 — June 1 the NU held the 5th Graduation Ceremony of Students. On May 31, the ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Board of Trustees of Nazarbayev Intellectual schools, NU and Nazarbayev Fund, Yelbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, who addressed the graduates of the University with a welcoming speech, congratulated them on finishing their studies, and personally awarded diplomas with honors to graduates who showed the best academic performance.
Yevgeniya Kim, the Director of NU’s Career and Advising Center, has been working there since its inception in 2012. The main tasks of the Center are to work together with students on their career development and to advise students and graduates on issues related to their professional growth.
