During a recent visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan to NU, a proposal was made to elevate the forum to an international level.

The University Bridge Forum, established in 2020, has gained popularity among students, master’s, and doctoral candidates from higher education institutions in Kazakhstan. Annually, participants exchange experiences and knowledge, with young researchers presenting their studies and discussing collaboration opportunities. During a recent visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan to NU, a proposal was made to elevate the forum to an international level.

Initially initiated by doctoral candidates from the NU Graduate School of Education during the pandemic to support Kazakhstani students in online learning, the project has since grown significantly. It has become a key platform for knowledge exchange and fostering collaboration within the academic community. NU is currently negotiating with foreign universities to broaden the forum's scope. The «University Bridge» project is expected to be relaunched internationally in the fall of 2024.

«We aim to expand the reach and impact of the project by attracting even more participants and introducing new relevant topics for the contemporary scientific community. The support and active involvement of emerging researchers at NU will contribute to the development of Kazakhstan’s scientific potential,» emphasized Zhanyl Zhontayeva, NU Director for Professional Development Programs.

Over the past five years, 13 successful information sessions have been held, involving over a thousand young scientists from institutions such as NU, AlmaU, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Abai University, AIU, and others. Notably, research practices are shared not only among students but also among faculty members. Key topics covered in the sessions include research methods, academic writing, literature reviews, multilingual education, inclusive education, research ethics, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The sessions are conducted in Kazakh, English, and Russian.
