Total Energy Summer School started at Nazarbayev University

The second edition of “Total Energy Summer School”, organized by Total and supported by Nazarbayev University, will take place from May 14th to May 17th 2019 at Nazarbayev University in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. 

“Total Energy Summer School” is intended for both Undergraduate and Masters students who study topics related to energy. Participants studying in fields related to the following fields are particularly welcome: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries, Geology and the Environment. The summer school also is applicable to students exploring questions related to energy from the perspective of International Relations, International Law, and Business and Management.

The main objective of “Total Energy Summer School” is to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Kazakhstani students, and promote international scientific and educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and France. Lectures will be delivered by industry experts from Total drawing on their professional expertise and practical case studies.
Total proposed this initiative to the RoK Prime-Minister during a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France-Kazakhstan last April, 2018. Total is committed to helping Kazakhstan train future leaders and specialists in the Energy Sector. The Total Energy Summer School will not only share knowledge and international experiences to help develop future leaders, but will also contribute to the sector’s practical business needs and the nation’s public policy agenda.

A roundtable themed – Developing more competitive oil & gas and renewables sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan through enhanced educational programs and sharing of best practical industrial experience – is planned for May 14th 2019 during the Total Energy Summer School. Participating in the roundtable will be experts from Total, representatives of Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Energy, Industry associations, National companies, Universities, and other leaders in the industry. This Roundtable is a part of the Roadmap for partnership with investors on the development of technical and vocational education occurring within the Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
