Senate Speaker Meets NU President Waqar Ahmad

Share this articleChairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev met with NU President, Professor Waqar Ahmad.
Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that the advancement of science remains a top priority in state policy. Under the directive of the President, systemic measures are being implemented to enhance the potential of domestic science and create conditions for the widespread adoption of innovations across all sectors of life.
During the discussion, the parties focused on the prospects for educational and research initiatives, as well as the development of new technologies and innovations in various fields. Particular attention was given to potential collaborations between the Senate of the Parliament and the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at NU.
"Collaboration with ISSAI is crucial for shaping a regulatory framework for artificial intelligence technologies. Creating incentives, such as grant programs, to foster AI research is of utmost importance. Engagement with university researchers in this field will support the development of an effective and forward-looking legal environment," said Maulen Ashimbayev.
The Speaker of the Senate was also briefed on Nazarbayev University's current activities and future plans, including joint projects and initiatives aimed at furthering innovation and progress.
