The Women in Sciences Club, led by Assistant Professor Dana Alina, organized a Research Poster Show in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The Research Poster Show is a fast-paced, interactive event where research is presented simultaneously in a poster format.

The event brought together students from diverse fields, including cultural anthropology, Eurasian studies, medicine, environmental research, mathematics, nuclear physics, optics, astrophysics, computational physics, and artificial intelligence. Undergraduate and graduate students presented their research before an engaged and welcoming audience. Each presentation was followed by questions and discussions, allowing participants to refine their public speaking skills and receive valuable feedback. Additionally, attendees—including participants from CPS, FizMat high schools, and NIS—had the opportunity to explore various research topics and engage in discussions with presenters.

A highlight of the event was a talk by Professor Michael Good, who shared his hobby of collecting banknotes and delivered a fascinating presentation on the representation of female scientists in currency design.

The event concluded with an interactive quiz on female scientists, followed by a roundtable discussion where young researchers shared the challenges they face and experienced a strong sense of community support.
