The event was held on December 9-10, 2020 following the same format of the School of Library Technologies. Webinar speakers from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine shared their experience and knowledge in managing repositories, as well as the latest trends in library marketing and promotion in the academic setting. Participants received both theoretical knowledge and practical skills during the two-day webinar. The training was divided into two blocks:
- Open Science and Open Access Initiatives. Institutional Repositories.
- Marketing. Social Media Management and Librarian. Media and Information Literacy.
The webinar received commendations from the participants.
“Every webinar participant is a lucky man! Thanks to the new online format, it is very convenient to listen to the pioneers, our experienced leaders, without going out anywhere. We learned more about work and activities of the library. In addition, all of this is being presented to us with such understanding and clear knowledge. The main thing is to keep the technique in a good working condition. Thank you so much for the opportunity to learn from you. It is nice to see and listen to people who understand, apply new ideas and share them, that is, a system-active approach to work on your part!” – shared by Farida Nurkeshova, Director of Library and Information Center, Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.
At the end of the online training seminar, participants received certificates confirming the completion of advanced training courses at the Nazarbayev University Library.
