NU Signed Agreements with Alstom and AirLiquid

On May 2, 2023, during the 15th meeting of the Kazakh-French Intergovernmental Economic Commission, agreements/memorandums of cooperation were signed with the French companies Alstom and Air Liquide.
The signing of the documents is a measure of the implementation of the November 2022 Joint Statement of Cooperation. NU, University of Lorraine and three French companies Total Energies, Alstom, Air Liquide signed a trilateral Official Joint Statement on November 29, 2022 at the business forum in Paris, where the Heads of state of Kazakhstan and France participated within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France.
The parties agreed to establish a Center of Technological Excellence at NU. The tripartite statement also opens up an opportunity for student exchanges in engineering and geology.

Within the framework of the signed documents, students will have the opportunity to undergo an industrial or research internship on the basis of French companies represented in the market of Kazakhstan. Internships in companies are aimed not only at obtaining practical experience for students, but also at creating conditions for employment opportunities in these companies. Such measures will allow training and localization of qualified personnel in Kazakhstan.
Moreover, on June 7 this year, within the framework of the annual meeting of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is planned to hold the Day of Decarbonization at the basis of NU.
