In his speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the need to strengthen work on all the main components of human capital – education, health, labor market development and social protection:
“Today, more than 30 Kazakhstani universities conduct joint scientific research with Russia. It is advisable to work out the issue of creating scientific consortiums of scientists of Kazakhstan and Russia in perspective directions. In particular, on bio and information technologies, energy, space and others. ” The President of Kazakhstan stressed the possibility of using the potential of such innovative clusters as Nazarbayev University, the Park of Innovative Technologies, the Russian Skolkovo Center and other research structures.
The head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev also together with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited the exhibition “Human Capital Development”, where the expositions of Kazakhstan and Russian education systems were presented.
From the Kazakh side, Nazarbayev University Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation, Kadisha Dairova, presented and talked about the educational activities of the eight leading universities in Kazakhstan.
“8 Kazakhstan universities of 130 are represented at this exhibition, which are leaders in the field of development of the higher education system. All of them are united by one mission-to promote the development of Kazakhstan, as an international, scientific and educational hub. Such meetings of the rectors of the two countries within the framework of the Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia allow strengthening friendly, good-neighborly relations in the education sphere of both countries and will contribute to the competitiveness of specialists, “Kadisha Dairova noted.
During the trip to Chelyabinsk, representatives of the Nazarbayev University visited the South Ural State University, where they got acquainted with the activities of the university, with experience in allocating grants for scientific projects and determining directions for further cooperation between universities. Following the meeting between Vice President Nazarbayev of the University Kadisha Dairova and Rector of the South Ural State University Alexander Shestakov, an agreement was reached on the forthcoming signing of a framework agreement on cooperation.
“The basic principle of your university is the close relationship of education, science and production, and we would like to adopt this principle. While in Kazakhstan such production is developing, we could combine our efforts. Our young engineers could come to your laboratory. Where else can they see such powerful electric motors as not in Chelyabinsk, and see how they work in practice. Your bachelors could enter our university for master’s programs, and undergraduate programs for PhD programs. I think that our cooperation would help the students to be in demand in the Eurasian space, “said Nazarbayev, vice president for student affairs and international cooperation at the University of Kadisha Dairova.
As is known, for the first time within the framework of the XIV Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, the Forum of Rectors of Kazakhstan and Russia held in the South Ural State University. 126 universities participated in its work.
