The NU Classroom 2.0 team’s mission is to motivate students to study using interactive technologies. Using Microsoft technologies including Windows 8, Kinect, Microsoft Tag, Windows Azure and Windows Phone, the team has created an innovative education system for primary and secondary school children. The system includes an academic module for student learning and evaluation, a course management module, and a sport and exercise module. Through these elements of interactive gaming, friendly competition, social interaction, as well as physical movement, the team believes the educational environment can engage the student while increasing interest and positive attitudes towards learning.
Mentored by Dr. Ben Tyler of NU’s School of Science and Technology, the team will represent Nazarbayev University at the April 26th Kazakhstan Regional Final at the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition in Almaty.
