Nazarbayev University junior researcher is among the winners of the project «100 new faces of Kazakhstan»
On December 1st, 2017 the President of Kazakhstan met the winners of the Republican project “100 new faces”.
Among the winners was Zarina Sautbayeva, the junior researcher and instructor of School of Science and Technology, Nazarbayev University. Currently Zarina does her research on сharacterization of circulating microparticles in colorectal cancer patients and teaches Biology.
“I graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) where I studied on Bolashak program. Then I became a member of Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and won the scholarship for internship at Harvard Medical School. The methods of early cancer diagnosis are studied by developed countries and Kazakhstan is among them. And I am happy that our research team is working on this issue in our country», – commented Zarina Sautbayeva.
The Republican project started on June 7, 2017, and its main goal was to determine the best representatives of various fields. The Competition consisted of three parts. There were 2200 candidates in the first part and only 102 were selected to participate in the finale part, according to the results of Kazakhstani people vote.
Thanks to the project, the country will know its heroes, and the other citizens will be motivated to achieve better results in their activities.
