Nazarbayev University International Student Chapter has been accredited by American Chemical Society
On January 9th, 2018, a group of active students from Nazarbayev University School of Science and Technology (SST) has been accredited by the American Chemical Society as an International Student Chapter.
– Just a year ago, we started collecting all necessary documents for the Chapter initiation. We tried to put as much effort as possible. Our group expresses gratitude to Dr. Timur Sh. Atabaev, who agreed to be our faculty advisor. One of the conditions for the Chapter initiation is to have an active faculty member, – says a 3rd year SST student Shynggys Sadyk, the president of the Chapter.
Students of any course are welcome to join the Chapter and for that it is necessary to send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org. According to Shynggys, in the future, the Chapter plans to conduct scientific lectures, professional workshops, and fieldtrips to local factories.
It should be noted that the American Chemical Society (ACS) is a nonprofit scientific organization, founded in 1876 at the University of New York. The headquarters are located in Washington D.C. Today, ACS is the biggest and most influential nonprofit scientific organization of its kind. There are more than 150 000 active registered scientists and professionals all around the world, which publish their research articles in 51 ACS journals.
