Lord Mayor of London David Wootton visited Nazarbayev University. He participated in the launch ceremony of BG Scientific Library at the Center for Energy Research and also visited the NU School of Engineering.
The Lord Mayor of The City of London David Wootton and Nazarbayev University President Shigeo Katsu held the BG Scientific Library opening ceremony. Shigeo Katsu in his sppech noted that two British universities – University College London (partner for the Centre for
Preparatory Studies and School of Engineering) and University of Cambridge (partner for Graduate School of Education), where Lord Mayor David Wootton graduated from, are Nazarbayev Univerity strategic partners.
At the meeting with the School of Engineering the importance of enhancing the partnership with the UK in education and research areas was highlighted. David Wootton noted that Kazakhstan demonstrates good progress in innovation and new technologies areas, and Nazarbayev University School of Engineering is making a valuable contribution in this process.
David Wootton’s visit to Nazarbayev University became a part of his visiting program over the country. The Lord Mayor of The City of London arrived to Kazakhstan on Tuesday and leaves tomorrow. The purpose of The Lord Mayor’s visit is to promote the City of London as the world’s leading International Financial Centre as well as promoting UK Financial and Business Services and to assist in the development of greater trade and investment between the two countries.
