During the visit, a meeting was held with the university leadership to discuss prospects for collaboration in higher education and research.
NU President Waqar Ahmad opened the meeting with a presentation on the university's achievements in its short history and expressed a commitment to developing partnerships with Italian educational institutions.
«We are entering a new era of partnerships based on equality. We are confident that we can make a significant contribution. The university has already achieved notable results and is ready to share its experience in research and student life. Italy has a rich history in higher education, and we look forward to closer cooperation,» said Waqar Ahmad. He also mentioned that currently, 17 NU graduates are studying at Italian universities, and some NU graduates work for Italian branches of major companies such as Microsoft, PwC, UniCredit, and Nokia.
In response to President Ahmad's invitation for collaboration, Minister Bernini emphasized the importance of creating a consortium that would provide students with the opportunity to remain in Kazakhstan, contribute to its development, and internationalize their knowledge.
«Italy and Kazakhstan share deep cultural and educational roots. We are located in the center of our continents — you in the heart of Asia, and we in the heart of Europe. This creates unique opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the cultural sphere,» noted Anna Maria Bernini.
