Share this articleA delegation from the Uzbekistan’s Agency for Strategic Reforms visited Nazarbayev University (NU) to explore its infrastructure and scientific advancements.
The business visit to the university was organized by Kazakhstan's Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms. The guests learned about the university's capabilities, which have earned it recognition as the leading institution in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
They toured NU's state-of-the-art laboratories, including those for robotics and electron microscopy, and were introduced to various projects NU researchers and students undertake. For instance, postdoctoral researcher Azamat Yeshmukhametov presented his work on tensegrity robots, which have potential applications in industry and manufacturing, as well as an innovative startup project called the "smart insole." Based on the TENG sensor platform, this insole enables early diagnosis and rehabilitation for athletes and children with autism or motor disorders.
The delegation expressed interest in the potential for Uzbek students to study at NU and in the university's advanced scientific developments with practical applications.
Of particular note, Bahodir Rahmatov, Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan and Deputy Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis, inquired about opportunities for student exchange and collaboration between NU and educational institutions in Uzbekistan.
