The conference is organized by the Center for Excellence in Medical Robotics & Research (CEMRR) at NU in collaboration with India’s Soft Computing Research Society.

The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) is scheduled to take place from May 9–11, 2025. The conference will bring together scientists, researchers, and professionals to exchange ideas, establish collaborations, and explore cutting-edge advancements in AI and robotics for medicine. Conference proceedings will be published by Springer and indexed on major platforms such as SCOPUS, DBLP, and INSPEC.

The organizing committee invites researchers to participate. Submissions are open until March 15, 2025. For submissions later than the deadline, please write to cemrr@nu.edu.kz

CEMRR at NU is dedicated to developing innovative robotic and AI solutions for treating disabilities and diseases. The center collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Columbia University, the University of Leeds, Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Canberra.

Among its notable developments are:

  • A robotic exoskeleton for arm and shoulder rehabilitation,
  • A robotic exoskeleton for gait rehabilitation,
  • Robotic therapy systems for cerebral palsy treatment,
  • A robotic-assisted system for advanced repositioning of long-bone fractures.
  • AI-CPath: Advancing Cancer Diagnosis and Prognosis through Artificial
  • Intelligence-based Computational Pathology Platforms (Ongoing with the Oncology Center, Astana)

Current research includes the development of a next-generation robotic system for knee replacement surgery.

In August 2024, CEMRR hosted a MedTech workshop featuring 10 leading companies, including Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP, Zein LLP, and India's Entuple Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Such collaborations drive competition and accelerate the commercialization of medical technologies. Also, CEMRR representatives addressed a Seminar hosted by Olympic Association of Asia on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and eSports” in Kuwait on 22nd of February 2025.
