Center for Life Sciences (CLS)
CLS strives to transform medicine and healthcare in Kazakhstan through innovative scientific research, rapid translation of breakthrough discoveries, educating future clinical and scientific leaders, advocating and practicing evidence-based medicine, and pursuing research in personalized and predictive medicine. Regenerative medicine and artificial organs, biomedical engineering, innovative cell technology and cell therapies, healthy ageing and translational medicine are the main research priorities.
CLS has launched the first high-performance bioinformatics computing platform in Kazakhstan for dealing with “big genomic data” and solving problems in the field of bioinformatics. The CLS team of research scientists is at the forefront of biomedical science winning competitive commercialization grants funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and producing patents as well as publications in high impact factor journals.
