Before coming to Nazarbayev University, Simon had over 9 years of experience in designing and delivering Academic Writing modules at both undergrad and postgrad levels. Simon has taught writing skills in a variety of situations, from the Government Senate in Cambodia, to universities in London, Tokyo and Saigon. He also has experience of teaching undergrad foundation modules in International Relations, Political Science and International Environmental Law.
Simon’s main areas of interest are power and security issues, especially in respect to rising powers. His current project is a PhD researching and exploring perceptions of projects initiated by a growing superpower in neighbouring states.
