Dr. Salimgerey obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Bogazici University in Turkey. After graduating in 2002, he was awarded a teaching assistantship from Worcester Polytechnic Institute to pursue a graduate degree. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2008. His Ph.D. research was on the synthesis of porphyrin solids for host-guest chemistry, octupolar properties, and crystal engineering. After obtaining his doctoral degree, Salimgerey began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2010, he joined Nazarbayev University as a senior researcher at the Center for Energy Research.
