Moulay Rachid Babaa, PhD, received his MEng (Chemical Processes) in 2001 from Blaise Pascal University, Clermont-Ferrand, France and PhD (Materials Science and Engineering) in 2004 From Lorraine University, Nancy, France. He has been a postdoctoral fellow at LCVN Laboratory in Montpellier University, France. He also worked as a research associate at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) Saclay, France. His research interests cover a large spectrum of research topics such as the synthesis, surface modification and assembly of nano-materials, the development of new materials for gas storage, Enhanced Oil Recovery and mineral processing.

Dr. Babaa is a member of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Rachid Babaa is holding a French Higher Education Teaching Qualification in: 1- Organic, Inorganic and Industrial Chemistry (section 32). and in 2- Engineering Materials (section 33).
