Galiya Sagyndykova received her PhD in Economics from the University of Arizona in 2014, where she was a student of Ronald Oaxaca. During her study she was nominated for Ed Zajac Prize for the best 3rd year paper and received Graduate Research Award. Her dissertation focuses mainly on evaluation of educational policies and programs in Mexico and the United States. Since August 2014, Sagyndykova works as an Assistant Professor in economics at Nazarbayev University. At the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Nazarbayev University she serves as Co-Director of Undergraduate Studies. Her research fields are Labor Economics, Industrial Organizations, and Applied Econometrics.
